  5. I have been trying to find out what happened to Mercury 2.5 racing engines. Are they still available? Nothing on the Merc website or other websites I have visited.
  6. I am running a Teleflex Sea Star Pro hydraulic system on a STV Drag, it is rated for high performance boats such as STV. Works good not to mention the peace of mind it provides. If you do a search on the Internet, you will find them and their website has good downloadable information on the steering system. John from Northern Ontario
  7. I'm trying to have a cover made for my STV Procomp Drag. The problem I am having is that Northern Ontario does not have shops experienced in making covers for this type of boat. In order to help the shop, I am hoping I can get some pics of other STV mooring covers that I can provide them as a guide. Thank you. John from Sudbury Ontario
  8. I just picked up a 2002, STV Procomp Drag, 2.5 1993 Carb, Sportsmaster and would like some advice on a few things. a) How high should the motor be set on the transom, presently it is at the second highest hole. I have a power lift, but I am told that once you have the motor set correctly, you don't need one, true? What prop do you recommend? c) I am looking for a mooring cover from someone who already has the design and just has to make it for me versus bringing the boat to the shop, preferably northern or central Ontario. d) GPS speedo's are they the way to go or is there a good mechanical one that works, GPS are expensive. e) Any other helpful hints? Thanks John H.

  13. I am about to pick up a new STV Procomp Drag that was built for me by a STV enthusiast who purchased the drag moulds 3 years ago. The moulds are located in Bracebridge, Ontario, Canada. I have seen alot of info on the Euro and River Rocket, but nothing on the Drag. Would appreciate some info on how these handle, what to watch for and recommended props. The motor is a 1993 Merc, 2.5 carb with some performance upgrades bringing it up to the 250 plus range. Thank you,
