18ft stv

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone

I have just purchesed a Canadian Built Charger STV 18ft. I have a stock Yamaha Prov150(stock) on it and it runs 70mph at 5800rpm on gps with a chopper2 14.5x28 with a manual cmc jack plate 6". My question is what is a good height to mount the engine ie. were should the prop shaft be. Also does anyone have good info on a prop for this boat. I have tried a cleaver and chopper but would like any feed back.

Thanks Stuart

Stu18stv,

Do you have a low water pick-up on the gearcase? Also what is your intended use? From the number I take it you have 2:1 gears, but maybe you could confirm that as well.

Yep. That Yamaha should have 2:1 gears. I have a few things that will make it run a bit better as well. Let me know if you are interested as I have been cleaning out my stash and have some good parts.
