STV Pro Comp Ski ETEC 150HO

Recommended Posts

Anyone ever run an ETEC on their STV? I have a 1993 Pro Comp Ski and was thinking about putting an ETEC 150HO on the back. Looking for speeds in the low 80's. Does this sound reasonable?

I also have a RapidCraft Riot with a 2.5 on it that I use as my speed rig. The STV/ETEC would be my "cruiser".

I think it would be a great combo. 80 should be no problem and the fuel economy will be excellent. I have a RR with a 3.3 etec and love it. The only limitation with modern engines is rev limit but since your speed goal is 80 you should be good.

I have been studying the 150HO because it is lower weight than the big block ETEC's (I had a 200HO ETEC on the back of a Hydrostream Vegas XT and it was too much weight, boat wasn't happy with that motor on the back) and also since I'm not looking for ultimate top speed with this rig, the MPG would be nice. If I could run an honest 80-85 with a 150HO, I could be happy with that.
