Anyone running Autometer gauges?

Recommended Posts

I bought a Gaffrig FP gauge for the boat and I'm not totally in love it with.  I really like the Autometer Ultra lights, but I'm worried about getting them wet.  My boat does occaisonally have some water come over the nose.

Will the normal Autometers live or should I stick with a marine grade gauge?

I'm an Autometer W/D at work, so I get as good of pricing as you can, but if I kill them every time out, that's no good.  :)

Secondly, any idea how well the Ultra lights would match a Gaffrig Platinum speedo and tach?

got 2 mercury gauges, one for each bank of cylinders. seized and ruined a block with a piece of debris in the water jacket.

now if temp on either bank rises above 125 i check for problems.

You mean the one behind the flywheel?  That's where my pressure gauge is. I was thinking to drill/tap one of the heads at the top, into the water jacket, but wanted to see what you guys are doing.
